Our Vision - Laying the Foundations for Life Through Gymnastics
Gungahlin Gymnastics is the realisation of a long-held dream for Canberra locals Joel and Megan Moss to share their love of gymnastics.
Joel is a former elite gymnast who represented Australia around the world while Megan is an experienced sports administrator and dance teacher.
We opened in April 2015 with two coaches and 20 classes on the timetable; now in 2026 we are a team of over 60 coaches and nearly 300 classes across 2 fully equipped gymnastics facilities in Mitchell, ACT.
Gungahlin Gymnastics is unique – and it is something we are proud of and something we strive to maintain and build on every day we are in the gym. We are unique because of our approach to gymnastics, the philosophy that underpins our programs and how we measure our success as a club. Success at Gungahlin is seeing each gymnast become the best gymnast they can be and keeping our gymnasts engaged and participating in physical activity for as long as possible.
Coaches who care and where fun is our number one value
Our Vision is simple - Laying the foundations for life through gymnastics.
We see gymnastics as the vehicle to equip gymnasts with the resilience, discipline and strong work ethic necessary to succeed in school, future careers and other areas of their lives. We aim to provide an environment where your child learns life skills that are valuable far beyond the gym floor. We want to help them become great humans, not just great gymnasts and hope that you see their growth as a person beyond gymnastics as a result of their participation in the sport.
Our Mission is to provide an environment where:
Gymnastics is the tool we use to lay the foundations for life
Our lessons facilitate the learning of not only gymnastics skills but life skills such as resilience, determination, confidence, perseverance, respect & friendship
Gymnasts develop physically, mentally, socially & emotionally through participation
The sport of gymnastics is accessible & available to the community notwithstanding a person's age, ability or financial status
Fun is the foundation of our entire program and our number one value from Kindergym right through to our high level competitive gymnasts. Modern research affirms that genuine enjoyment and intrinsic motivation are the most vital factors for ensuring long-term participation in any physical activity. Our commitment is to a model refined over years of reduced training hours, a focus on growth and effort over perfection and training to help each gymnast to become the best they can be.
Our values proudly hang our walls to remind us every day why we are here and how we behave. We value:
FUN
Equality
Responsibility
Quality
Positivity
Continuous Development & Growth
Enthusiasm
Encouragement
Respect
